Describing daily routines in Spanish: examples and common verbs
Spanish reflexive verbs in everyday life
Most everyday activities arenon-infinitive verbslike JUGAR (to play) or COMER (to eat) and sometimes Spanish reflexive verbs like DESPERTARSE (to wake up) and VESTIRSE (to wear). To conjugate reflexive verbs, you need to conjugate the first part of the verb using the rules forregular or irregular verbs, and add a reflexive pronoun that agrees with the subject in the sentence. Too much we know! Thereforespanish reflexive verbsare covered in much more detail in a separate lesson. Other than that, WAKE UP changes to "(I) Wake Up", "(You) Wake Up", "(He/She/You) Wake Up".
The first daily routine example shows someone talking about their morning routine in Spanish: “the morning routine“.string of wordssuch as "primero" (first), "luego" (then), "ante de" (before), "después de" (after), and "finalidad" (finally) are used in most descriptions to connect ideas. This makes the descriptions more realistic and complete. Notice how the everyday vocabulary in the box is used to form meaningful sentences and a complete paragraph.

Non-reflexive verbs in everyday life
In the previous example, the guy was talking about his own routine, so he used sentences with the structure "Yo me + Verb + Complement". As you can see in this example, verbs like DESAYUNAR and REGRESAR don't need thisthe reflexive pronoun Ibecause both are non-reflexive verbs in Spanish. Both "Yo me voy..." and "Yo voy..." are possible for the verb IR.
Here's a second example, but this time with a few words tohobbiesElikes (ME GUSTA + activity), as well as adverbs of frequency like "Siempre" (always), "De vez en cuando" (sometimes) and "A veces" (sometimes), alongside non-reflexive verbs in the same paragraph about everyday Spanish.
